Lotus Flowers Children Center is a nonprofit organization
for research and early intervention practice through holistic
approaches, based on transplinary professionals¡¯ cooperation
team. The team consists of a pediatrician, a child psychiatrist,
a Korean medicine doctor, an Ayurvedic doctor, a behavior
analyst, a psychologist, a speech therapist, an aroma
therapist, a music therapist, and other related professionals.
It has as one of its major goals the therapeutic
support in a regular community environment of young children
with autistic symptoms and other related disorders. Of
primary concern is research and intervention practice
focused on neurological approach through sense-awakening
training program of the children with the help of their
family, typically developing peers, neighbors, and those
who are professionals in the field.
The center also provides a number of undergraduates,
graduates, and paraprofessional training programs that
have the goal of teaching "state of the art for the
children" support techniques. Research is conducted
to assess the effect that these proms have on their daily
life, specifically improvement of the children's language
and behavior, and level of increased community and school
integration. An additional training component of the center
relates to sponsoring and assisting with international
and national conferences focused on the dissemination
of well-researched, readily usable therapeutic and educational
procedures, as well as for unifying professional, family,
and community efforts for the improvement of service quality
for children with autism and related disorders.
The center is funded by a number of sources,
including the Buddhist Association, grants by the governments,
and donation from organizations and individuals.
Lotus Flowers Children is an association
of those who are yearning in the hearts for the spiritual
dimension of life. We all together are doing our bests
to satisfy our longing soul with the children by tuning
in the spiritual waves. |
